Inspect It Right Home Inspections, LLC provides HERS Ratings as an accredited HERS Rater certified by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).

A HERS Rating is a comprehensive home energy assessment, much like a home energy audit, with the key difference being that a HERS Rating gives the home a score at the end of the assessment. The HERS Index, shown at left, ranks homes on a scale from 0-150, with 0 being a "zero energy home" that theoretically produces as much energy as it uses.

HERS Ratings can be useful for homeowners thinking about putting their home on the market, real estate professionals looking to distinguish their homes, or for builders and architects looking to achieve a high energy efficiency standard in the homes they're building. It can also be helpful for homeowners who would like to have an Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM) to help with financing energy efficiency improvements while purchasing a home.

The HERS Rating typically features many of the tests and analyses conducted during a comprehensive home energy audit, including infrared imaging, blower door testing to determine air leakage, and more.

Mike with Inspect It Right Home Inspections is personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable. We started with a pre-purchase inspection (which was very thorough) and ended with a home energy audit. It was amazing to be able to see exactly where the energy inefficiencies were in our home. Mike followed up the inspections by providing detailed reports, a variety of resources and realistic recommendations to make improvements. He also identified the Focus On Energy savings/rebates that we could use to offset some of the costs of making various improvements. I HIGHLY recommend Inspect It Right Home Inspections for anyone who is considering the purchase of a home or who is interested in making their home more energy efficient.
